Camper Behaviour Policy 2025
Red Pine Roots Inc. Behaviour Policy 2025
Purpose:
Our Day Camp Behaviour Policy is designed to create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable
environment for all campers. We believe in fostering kindness, responsibility, and
cooperation. By adhering to these guidelines, each child will contribute to making
camp a positive experience for themselves and others.
Due to our focus on outdoor activities and our current staff capacity, we are not
equipped to accommodate children with high needs or significant behavioural
challenges at this time, as we do not have the specialized supports needed on
site.

General Expectations
1. Respect for Others:
• Treat all campers, staff, and visitors with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
• Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
• Respect personal space and belongings. Ask for permission before touching another
camper’s items.
• Listen when others are speaking and raise your hand if you need to talk.

2. Respect for the Environment:
• Take care of camp facilities, equipment, and natural surroundings.
• Dispose of trash properly and recycle when possible.
• Use supplies and resources responsibly.

3. Safety First:
• Follow all camp safety rules and instructions from staff members.
• Stay within designated areas.
• Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
• Report any injuries, accidents, or unsafe situations to a staff member immediately.

• Participate in group activities with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

5. Good Sportsmanship:
• Play fairly and take turns.
• Accept the outcome of games with grace, whether winning or losing.
• Encourage others and celebrate everyone’s successes.

Behavioural Expectations
1. Positive Behavior:
• Follow directions from staff the first time they are given.
• Stay calm and use words to express your feelings instead of physical actions.
• If upset, take a break and speak to a staff member if needed.

2. Inappropriate Behaviour:
• Aggressive behaviour, including, hitting, kicking, or throwing objects is prohibited.
• Inability to follow camp instructions and daily rules will not be tolerated.
• Running away from the building or designated activity area is prohibited.
• Bullying, teasing, or hurtful actions towards others will not be tolerated.
• Verbal abuse or using inappropriate language is not allowed.
• Inappropriate screaming will not be tolerated.

3. Resolving Conflicts:
• If you have a disagreement with another camper, seek help from a staff member.
• Speak respectfully when addressing issues and work together to find solutions.
• Physical fighting or retaliatory actions will not be tolerated.

Dismissal Process
We believe in guiding children to make better choices by teaching them about
responsibility and respect. If a camper’s behaviour does not meet the camp’s
expectations, the campers Parent/Guardian will be notified. For serious or repeated behavioural issues, or if a camper’s actions endanger themselves or others, a dismissal from the camp will occur. This decision will be made by the camp director.

Parent/Guardian Involvement
We encourage positive communication between camp staff and parents/guardians. If
there are any concerns regarding behaviour, please reach out to us directly. By working
together, we can ensure a fun, safe, and respectful environment for everyone.
Conclusion
By following the Day Camp Behaviour Policy, all campers will help maintain a friendly,
respectful, and safe environment where everyone can enjoy the camp experience.
