Our Nature Commitment
Red Pine Roots is a nature-based education company dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship through child-centred outdoor play. Our programs, aligned with the Ontario Curriculum, focus on connecting children with nature to enhance self-regulation, resilience, and cognitive development. By spending more time outdoors, children are empowered to organize their thoughts, engage with their surroundings, and build vital life skills, fostering a deeper sense of responsibility for the environment and themselves. Our ultimate mission is to inspire a profound connection to nature, instilling a sense of responsibility and confidence in the younger generation.

Melody Belfry, known as “Melody the Naturalist,” is a passionate master naturalist, outdoor educator, and environmental advocate. With a deep love for nature, she emphasizes the importance of reciprocity in our relationship with the environment, believing that humans must give back to nature as much as they take. Melody is also a devoted mother, wife, and dog owner, balancing her family life with her dedication to educating others about the natural world. Through her work, she inspires others to connect with and respect the environment, fostering a more sustainable and harmonious future.
